TORONTO, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) and the more than 70 journalists who participated in the annual Canadian Car of the Year "Test Fest" in Niagara-on-the-Lake in October of this year have awarded the coveted distinction of Best New Luxury Car to the All-New 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
25 years ago, Mercedes-Benz revolutionized the entry-level luxury segment by launching the "190 series Baby Benz". The 190 evolved into the C-Class as the series was redesigned in 1993, and again in 2000. In Canada, close to 50,000 C-Class units have been sold over the course of the series' lifetime, making it a very important model for the Canadian Mercedes-Benz organization..click here to read on.

2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is fourth generation
BY ANN M. JOB
For The Associated Press

This is not to say the C-Class is bargain-priced...to continue click here

Mercedes plans model-rich 2008
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a near-production concept for its forthcoming compact SUV, the GLK, at an exclusive preview attended by company leaders in Stuttgart — and backed it up with details of all its new models for 2008, including a new-look CLC (C-class Compact) and mid-life ‘refresher’ versions of five other models, including improved SL and SLK sports cars and A- and B-class compact saloons.
Mercedes GLK: still no right-hand drive
In a rapidly expanding segment containing many new compact SUVs styled to disguise their bulk, the GLK, which is about 25cm shorter than the full-sized M-class, has almost Jeep-like styling, with prominent, squared wheelarches and generally aggressive lines.

Sporting a carbon fiber roof and 19" light alloy rims in classic Y-spoke design, the new coupe is powered by a V8 engine which expects to pump out 400bhp. 2008 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Roadster
This final collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren is, like the Coupe and 722 Edition that preceded it, a technological wonder. It shares the same carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic bones and 617-horsepower, 5.5-liter supercharged V-8, but the Roadster's semi-automatic cloth top opens up an entirely new, more pleasurable dimension to the thrill of driving the wickedly fast two-seater.
